Explosive Results
Filmmakers Kendall Bruns & Josh Flowers in “Best of Underneath”

Cincinnati, OH - February 10, 2006 - “Exploded”, the award winning film from Kendall Bruns and Josh Flowers, has been chosen as one of Underneath Cincinnati’s Best Films of 2005. The annual Best of Underneath show will be held February 24, 2006 at the Contemporary Arts Center in downtown Cincinnati.

Created as part of last year's 48 Hour Film Project, “Exploded” finally answers the age old question of what happens when you wake up to find a bomb in your head. The film won multiple awards for writer/director/editors Kendall Bruns and Josh Flowers, including the “Audience Choice Award” at the Fall 2005 Underneath Cincinnati screening.

In the comedic action film, “Exploded”, a man (played by Aaron Maas) wakes to find a bomb planted inside his head. Bruns explains, “We made a list of action-movie clichés and tried to touch on them in a humorous way, without being obvious.”

"But we failed and that's why it's funny," adds Flowers.

And if you miss this year’s Best of Underneath, you can always wait until next February, where Bruns and Flower’s short film, “Cheese Knives”, has already been guaranteed a spot, thanks to winning the “Audience Choice Award” at the Winter screening in January.

Bruns and Flowers will be in attendance at the screening.

The running time for “Exploded” is 4:35 minutes. For a complete list of films to be screened at the 2005 Best of Underneath, please visit www.underneathcincinnati.com

Tickets are available through the CAC box office or call (513)345-8405
$10 in advance, $12 at the door, doors open at 6pm, show starts at 7pm.
