The Haircut Premiere Date Set
Documentary to make it’s debut at the Lite Brite Test
Cincinnati,
OH – May 15, 2006 – Audiences will finally have the opportunity
to see the results of artist Kendall Bruns’ haircut project on Friday,
July 28 as a featured film event at The Lite Brite Test, held at the Historic
Southgate House in Newport, KY.
Bruns began “The Haircut” project in 2004 when he solicited friends
and strangers to submit suggestions for his next haircut using entry forms that
were downloaded from his website, www.kendallbruns.com. A panel of judges reviewed
over 70 submissions and Bruns received the winning haircut. The entire process
was video documented and the results have been edited into a 40 minutes film.
Bruns says, “After I got the winning haircut, I needed some time away from the project .“ A year later, Bruns was discussing future projects with his filmmaking partner, Josh Flowers, and they agreed to tackle the footage.
The resulting film examines the project from many perspectives. “It can be viewed as an art project, as a reaction to reality television or as a strange sociological experiment. Most importantly, I think we created an entertaining film,” explains Bruns.
The filmmaking duo have been documenting the editing process in short, 1-2 minute video clips they post on their website, www.pizzainfinity.com.
More details about the screening will be announced closer to the premiere date.
